Libra Drafting Launch

Launch film for a new way to draft.

About the Project

Libra launched Drafting. Writing in one tool, formatting in another, checking sources in a third, and switching between all of them until the context is gone. Drafting puts the whole thing in one workspace: the editor, chat, comments, sources you can rely on, and the full version history of a document.

Announcing a workspace is harder than announcing a feature. There is no single moment to point at, and nothing about a document tool is naturally visual. The thing being sold is the absence of switching.

So the film had to make one draft travel from first version to final without ever leaving the frame. It went out in English and German and led the announcement in both.

How we made it

A call with the team first, then a storyboard with every frame designed out. No voiceover, so the on-screen lines and the frames were written together.

Animation after that, built on the motion system we made for Libra. One thing leads, nothing appears from nowhere, every move settles. Match cuts carry the transitions, so the document never gets cut away from.

Review rounds, then sound design. At the end the whole thing was rebuilt in six more languages, so the same film runs in every market Libra sells in.

Selected scenes

Scene 1

01 Opening

File icons drift through the frame, Word, Excel, PDF, the stack every draft used to live in. They pull together into a single prompt box and the background clears behind them. One line of type: Introducing Drafting.

Scene 2

02 First Draft

A request goes into the prompt and Libra works through it in the open: precedent query, documents read, share purchase agreement drafted. The finished document scrolls past, Preview and Edit sitting at the top. Nothing left the workspace to get here.

Scene 3

03 Fill the placeholders

A file drops onto the draft and the placeholders fill themselves, party names, dates, figures, straight into the clauses that were waiting for them. The document is finished without a single field being typed by hand.

04 Research a clause

A clause is selected and the sources come up beside it, each one switchable. Cards rotate through the research, then the summary streams in next to the text it belongs to. The answer arrives in the document, not in another tab.
